On May 8, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Middletown, NY.  7 p.m., outgoing president, Dorothy Marshall, invited members to consider ways by which it may conduct future activities that are consistent with its vision.  The changes in operations that have come about over the past few years have presented a challenge for the council to re-examine its structure and its leadership design.

At present the office of president is vacant.  Vice-President is Rabbi Joel Schwab.

Vision Statement

The Greater Middletown Interfaith Council, Inc. is and will be striving to promote understanding and tolerance among all religious communities.

We believe that in order to replace hatred and bigotry in our community, we must work together through friendship and dialogue, respecting all faiths and uniting with each other to bring dignity and self worth to all.

We will accomplish our vision by celebrating those things that unite all of us as people of God, while honoring those things that make us different from each other religiously and by using our collective energies to focus on doing instead of debating.

All religious congregations in the Middletown area are encouraged to have membership in the Greater Middletown Interfaith Council.

Programs of service, education, and celebration are the activities planned by the Council.

Regular meetings are held  in September, November, March and June.
